Michael Leoni has been studying acting for over 15 years. After being awarded a talent scholarship at the Hartt Conservatory BFA acting program where studied with Peter Flint, Frank Root, Alan Rust, Henry Fonte, Charlie Alterman, he left the program early and went straight to NYC to study his craft. In New York, Michael studied with Peter Flint at the Peter Flint Studios, Flo Greenberg at Actors Workshop and Eric Loeb at the Eric Loeb Studio. Michael appeared as the main character Off- Broadway in “LOUD” at the New York International Fringe Festival. Off- Off Broadway credits include Kenneth Lonergan’s “This is our Youth” as Dennis Zeigler, Lee Blessing’s “Lake St. Extension” and “What’s Wrong with Angry” as Stephen Carter. All were directed by Peter Flint. Michael also appeared as the lead in the original new plays “Deviants”, “Frequencies”, and “Enigma.” Regionally, he had lead roles in “Brighton Beach Memoirs”, “Falsettos”, “The Secret Garden”, and “A Street Car Named Desire. Between New York and Los Angeles, Michael has done music videos, commercials, and short films. He was cast as one of the leads in a pilot for a new Soap Opera called “Rose Bay”. He appeared in “The Playground” in multiple roles during four separate runs of the show in Los Angeles. His performances earned him great reviews at the Deaf West Theatre, Hudson Mainstage and the Unknown Theatre. In L.A. he has studied with John Swanbeck, director of “Big Kauhana”. He currently works at the UCLA standardize patient program where he plays various types of patient roles. Michael’s most recent feature film roles include: Optimistic”, “Twisted Faith” “Sledge” – an official selection at the Silver Lake Film Festival, “Deliver Us” and is currently filming “Hard Core Hearts, a feature film about a punk rock band.
